What is Print on Demand?

Print on demand is a way of selling custom products such as t-shirts without having to print or stock them yourself. When someone purchases your product it is printed to order and shipped by a third party. You don’t have to touch anything!

Below are a few examples of successful Etsy stores using print on demand to make a lot of money!

Designs like these are so easily made on a design tool like Canva. The store above has over 6000 sales of basic t-shirt designs.

This simple custom mugs store has done over 140,000 sales! A lot of their products sell for over £10 so a basic calculation estimates their revenue to be over £1,000,000.

Your Simple How-To Guide

(always remember to do your own research if this is something you’re thinking of trying)

  1. Do Your Research

Think of a small niche that you can create good designs for. Look at similar shops to the one you want to create to get inspiration.

  2. Create Your Designs

Use Canva to make designs similar to ones that are selling well. Don’t just copy them and always be careful of copyrighted pictures. There are plenty of good tutorials for this step on YouTube.

  3. Open an Account on Printful

Printful is the supplier you’ll use to get the designs printed and shipped to your customers.

  4. Upload Your Designs

Upload your finished designs to a product of your choice on Printful. Just follow the simple steps laid out by Printful.

  5. Open an Etsy Account

Opening an Etsy shop is very easy. Usually to list a product it would cost you 20p per listing but if you use this link to open your shop your first 40 listings will be free! https://etsy.me/3LVeuiE

  6. Connect Etsy and Printful

Now go back to Printful and follow the simple steps to connect your Printful account to your Etsy account. This makes everything automated so fulfilling orders is even easier.

  7. Create Your Listings

Once Your shop is connected to Printful you can easily import your finished products to Etsy, making the listing process very simple.

  8. Etsy Ads

Now everything is set up you can do additional marketing such as Etsy ads. This will promote your listings to the top of the page. This step is optional as it will cost additional money to run ads.

  9. External Promotion

Now everything is up and running you can look into other forms of marketing such as social media and paid ads on Facebook or Pinterest.
