Your Side Hustle Idea This Week is Website / App Tester 📱

If you already feel like this idea isn’t for you just keep reading. You never know what might spark your interest. If it still isn’t for you then don’t worry, there will be a new idea waiting for you next week!

Becoming a website/app tester is a great way to earn a small amount of extra income each month. I personally do this on a platform called UserTesting and have made $100 (about ÂŁ82) doing so.

You may think you need good technical knowledge but that’s not the case. Companies that want their website tested want it tested by a wide range of users to understand how different demographics interact with it.

Above are some listings on the platform “Fiverr“ displaying people who offer their website testing services. Prices vary depending on experience but it’s definitely working as you can see from their reviews!

This method might not make you the most money but it can be consistent, you set your own work time and it’s free to start. If you’re willing to do all kinds of tests you can make a consistent £100+ a month extra income!

Your Simple How-To Guide

(always remember to do your own research if this is something you’re thinking of trying)

  1. Sign Up for Fiverr & UserTesting

Creating accounts on these platforms is very quick and easy and is an essential step to getting started with website and app testing. “Fiverr” is a good way to set your own prices, while “UserTesting” will give more consistent earnings.

  2. Complete Your Fiverr Profile

When setting up a profile on “Fiverr” it’s important to fill out your profile as much as possible with information that would interest a company looking to hire you. There are some great YouTube videos on how to do this.

  3. Complete Your UserTesting Profile

The “UserTesting” platform is made specifically for making money testing websites and apps. There is some basic information about yourself to fill out so they can determine the best tests to give you.

  4. Apply for Jobs

Once your account is set up on “UserTesting” you will start seeing jobs on your dashboard. Each one will have a short survey beforehand to find out if you qualify for the test.

If you qualify you then review the website with a simple audio description whilst doing the tasks you are told. It only takes about 15 mins to complete a test and you will be paid $10 (about ÂŁ8.25).
